We've all learned the quadratic equation, the Pythagorean theorem, how to solve for x and many other mathematical formulas and procedures. Math in Society, an elective course at Oceanside High School, gives students an opportunity to apply their mathematical learning in a variety of hands-on projects. The students recently offered feedback on their favorite topics and projects from the yearlong course.

Ava Blau of OHS was named Outstanding President at the Key Club Leadership Conference in Albany, which OHS attended virtually. This award is given to only one president in all of New York State, which has approximately 270 Key clubs.

The budget of $167,951,857 passed on May 17, 2022, with a 0.17% tax levy increase.
Parents who attended the March 1 OSD Parent University Workshop with Dr. Merry McVey-Noble, a psychologist with expertise in treating trauma, found it very helpful. For those who were not able to participate, the recording and presentation slides are available.
